Hæmaturia in the Pre-Eruptive Stage of Measles

چکیده
On the 1st January, 1931, a boy, six years of age, became ill with sneezing, indefinite malaise and slight backache. There had been no previous illness. On the evening of the second day he passed, per urethram, without pain, what was thought to be pure blood. I saw him at 8.30 p.m. and found him in bed with a temperature of 101'4? F. and a pulse-rate of 112. The pharynx and nose were congested, but the retinse, skin, lungs, heart, abdomen and limbs revealed nothing abnormal. The spleen was not felt, and there was no trace of oedema. About 10 fluid ounces of bright red, hemorrhagic urine lay in a receptacle by the bedside, and on microscopical

Pre-Eruptive Intracronal Resorbtion at Unerupted Three Molar Teeth: A Case Report
Pre-Eruptive Intracronal Radiolucency (PEIR) is seen as a radiolucent anomaly at coronal dentin of unerupted teeth. PEIR is often confused because of similarities with dental caries. Pre-eruptive intracoronal resorptions are typically observed as radiolucency in dentin tissue, and the lesions are close to the enamel dentin junction. Lesions are often coincidentally noticed on the radiographs of...
متن کاملThe pre-eruptive illness of measles.
According to Sydenham (1717), the rash of measles appears on the fourth, or sometimes the fifth, day of the illness. This has remained the standard teaching of most of the authorities on infectious diseases and paediatrics (e.g. Sheldon, 1948; Banks, 1949; Harries and Mitman, 1951; Top, 1955). However, Panum (1847), in his classic report of a measles epidemic, states that although the prodromal...
متن کاملThe Giant-Cells of Measles *
The histological study of the tissues of those infected with the virus of measles has shown a variety of structures perhaps not improperly called giant-cells. The most striking of these are the masses of fused epithelial cells in the air-passages and the cells occurring chiefly in superficial and deep lymphoid tissue. Although the latter, which are of the greater interest, were described by Ala...
متن کاملPre-eruptive magmatic processes re-timed using a non-isothermal approach to magma chamber dynamics
Constraining the timescales of pre-eruptive magmatic processes in active volcanic systems is paramount to understand magma chamber dynamics and the triggers for volcanic eruptions. Temporal information of magmatic processes is locked within the chemical zoning profiles of crystals but can be accessed by means of elemental diffusion chronometry. Mineral compositional zoning testifies to the occu...
